Our Weekly Learning

This week was a bit of an unusual week in Grade 5/6. We are currently wrapping up many of our units in various different subjects, so students had a couple different unit tests/check-ins this week before the break.

Math: In math, students finished their decimal stores got to take on the roles of buyer and seller. They were super engaged in calculating and enacting the virtual transactions from their stores using their knowledge of adding and subtracting decimals!

Then we wrapped up the week with a little test to review their adding and subtracting skills.

Science: In science this week, both grade 5's and 6's prepared for and wrote their unit final for our earth systems unit about climate, climate change and weather. They students did a great job!

Social Studies: In grade 6 the students are beginning to learn about democracy in ancient Greece; the birthplace of democracy.

In grade 5 the students wrapped up their learning about the physical regions of Canada. They learned a bunch about the regions, their resources, plants, animals, weather/climate, and industries!

Have a restful fall break!
